Eric Levet from Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group, the studio well known to sailing afficionados worldwide, is the man behind the naval architecture of the new catamaran Excess. He brings some fresh ideas into the new Excess catamaran project, keeping in mind the design assumptions from the larger sistership – Excess 14. The exterior line of the hulls is equally aggressive. The hulls are asymmetric, meaning they are narrower under the water line, what optimizes the performances of the boat on sails without compromising the living space and comfort in the cabins.
A perfect playground for water activities. A well-conceived living area in the aft cockpit, directly connected with the galley, with several settees for relaxation and a dining area, it is only a foretaste of what the new Excess 13 has to offer for those who enjoy the al fresco lifestyle. A innovative solution are the foldable sugarscoops. In the enclosed position they improve the comfort and safety of navigation of the person standing at the helm. On the other hand, when they are unfolded, they become bathing platforms facilitating access to sea and the use of water toys.
Creating bright, minimalistic and functional interiors, with plenty of storage capacity, without additional materials that could compromise the weight of the Excess 13, was a task accomplished by Piato Yacht Design studio.
Excess 13 is offered in a 3 and 4 cabins version. Each cabin has an en-suite bathroom and generous storage space.
